Our Mission
In our beginnings as delegates in Model United Nations Conferences, we learnt to appreciate the importance of a voice of reason and nuance in times riddled with "alternative facts" and strife with polarizing rhetoric.
Recognizing the potential of Model United Nations as a platform for overcoming these shortfalls, while also noting the need to make this platform more accessible and equitable, we pivoted our organizational skills towards conducting cost-effective MUNs.
Thus, we seek to make use of expertise towards a socially beneficial cause by building a culture of inclusive and nuanced debate among the youth.
Why Choose MUNDirection
1
Remarkable Learning Experience
We aim to nurture students’ abilities to think
rationally for themselves, equipping them with the tools to analyse and
potentially produce research literature, while also giving them a glimpse of what diplomacy and negotiation entail. We place great significance on the delegates' ability to come together as a committee to resolve real-world issues after discussions held over the Conference. As a student-organised collective, we place great emphasis on the holistic development of delegates, imbibing them with soft skills such as public speaking, diplomacy, and research
2
Optimised Reference Material
The complete MUNDirection learning experience entails training workshops (both online and offline), reference materials (handbooks and background guides) as well as a delegate kit for the use of the delegates on the days of the conference.
Apart from these sessions, we shall also be sharing the MUNDirection Official Handbook. This document too shall contain all of the Rules of Procedure of MUN, and will also contain the standard procedure, nature of speeches, and documentation for non-UN committees, such as the Lok Sabha and the International Press Corps.
3
Extensive Training Sessions
Training workshops will be conducted by members of MUNDirection for all students who wish to register for the Conference, or have already done so. These sessions are designed to explain to students everything from standard parliamentary procedure to be followed in committee, the types of speeches/ formal debate that take place in a committee and their guidelines, the different types of documentation to be prepared by delegates, and many more. In essence, this session lays down the Rules of Procedure (RoP) of an MUN, while also explaining to delegates all activities they will partake in over the days of the Conference.
